Nine years, five thousand operations — and the same face at every one of them.
Dr. Harshit Patel — MS General Surgery (Gold Medalist), M.Ch Surgical Oncology (Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai), FALS-trained — practising across Ahmedabad and Vadodara.
The man in every scene.
The résumé reads in three lines: MBBS with distinction (2006–2012), MS General Surgery topped with a university gold medal (2012–2015), M.Ch Surgical Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai (2015–2018).
Three years at India's premier cancer institute teach a particular kind of arithmetic: outcomes hinge less on heroic days than on unglamorous ones — the tumour board attended, the margin debated millimetre by millimetre, the phone answered after midnight.
Since then: FALS fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery; a Best Paper Award at the National Conference of Surgical Oncologists of India; memberships of IASO and IAGES; and more than five thousand operations across nine specialities.
Patients rarely remember the credentials, though. They remember Scene 04 — a diagram, twenty minutes, and someone finally explaining the disease in their own language. Gujarati, Hindi or English: whichever one the family speaks.
